Imagine Yourself in the C-Suite is an educational event series that provides an opportunity for school-aged girls across Chicagoland to engage in dialogue with leading professionals and with one another. Featured speakers include CEOs and executives who share their success stories – as well as the failures that helped shape their professional development – to inspire achievement, build confidence and embolden girls to forge pathways to excellence.

On March 16 at 6:30 p.m. Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart will welcome Dr. Suzet McKinney for an in-depth conversation about her dynamic career. She will be joined by a socially distanced in-person audience of Woodlands Academy students, current parents, alumnae and community members. The event will also be available to livestream.

Named one of Chicago’s “50 Most Powerful Women in 2020,” Dr. Suzet McKinney is a public health expert, medical executive, thought leader, strategic thinker and nationally recognized expert in emergency preparedness and response. As Principal and Director of Life Sciences for Sterling Bay, Dr. McKinney oversees relationships with the scientific, academic, corporate, tech, and governmental sectors involved in the life sciences ecosystem. She also leads the strategy to expand Sterling Bay’s footprint in life sciences nationwide. She serves on numerous boards, including the Board of Directors for Wintrust Financial Corporation, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and Thresholds. Dr. McKinney is Co-Chair of the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM), Health and Medicine Division’s Forum on Medical and Public Health Preparedness for Disasters and Emergencies. She also serves on the Science and Security Board for the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.

Dr. McKinney will be interviewed by Katherine Bliss P’ 24. Ms. Bliss is an award-winning journalist and storyteller with 20 plus years of experience in TV news and video production as a reporter, anchor and independent producer. She is a current parent here at Woodlands and is joining us from Winnetka.
